The recent reports posted by NPD state that the number one selling mobile operating system in the US is none other than Google Android. According to tnerd.com this “disclosure of truth, shouldn’t be very surprising”.

The supposed reason for Google Android’s success is its rapid rate of evolving. As per the stats Google Android holds the spot for the leading market place at 33% shares. RIM’s BlackBerry follows at 28% shares while Apple’s iPhone OS is coming in third with 22% shares.

Google Android is the leader in the open “battle grounds” for the open source mobile OS community unlike Apple’s proprietary OS system iPhone OS which is confined to the development of only apps registered by Apple developers and stores. It seems just about everybody wants the Android OS to be the operating system and this is what is attributing to Android OS’ success.
