The pioneer of huge bounds and leaps in the progress of animation as an industry, Walt Disney was a man of talent and vision.

He was born on December 5, 1901, the fourth of five children of Elias and Flora Call-Disney. Walt initially developed his love of animals when his family moved to a farm in Marceline, Missouri. Unfortunately, the farm didn’t last, and they had to move to Kansas City, Missouri where Walt sold candy and helped his father deliver papers. He would also sell newspapers on the train that went from Chicago to Kansas City. During this time, he started to take the first of his art lessons, a skill which later on would develop into a craft that would change the way the world saw cartoons.
